This 1929 Chevrolet Model LQ Utility
1-1/2 ton stake was the very first truck to be restored and preserved
in the Hays collection. It is nearly identical to
the first truck bought and used by A.W. Hays in the early days
of his trucking business.
New, this 1929 model sold for $750.
1929 was the first year for the Chevrolet overhead valve 6-cylinder
engine, nicknamed "stove bolt six." It developed
46 hp at 2,600 rpm from a displacement of 194 cu. in.
